1. What information we gather
Dark Market List is an independent project focused on research and security awareness. We aim to inform analysts, reporters and security teams — not to profile readers. Only the minimum data required to run the site is collected.
- Server access logs: standard web-server log entries holding the IP, timestamp, requested URL, user agent and referrer. They are retained for a short rolling period only for abuse prevention and capacity tuning.
- Aggregated statistics: anonymous tallies of pageviews and searches, used only to measure topical interest. We do not retain personal identifiers.
- Form submissions: whatever you choose to enter into the contact or comment form (name, email, message). Nothing reaches us unless you explicitly submit.
2. What we do not collect
- Visitor data is not sold, rented out or shared with any ad network.
- There are no third-party tracking pixels and no browser-fingerprinting code on the site.
- We do not require an account, login or wallet address to read the catalog.
- We have no visibility into other .onion services you visit — that traffic stays between you and Tor.
3. Cookies on this site
Cookies are used only where strictly required — for instance, a session cookie when you submit a form, or a preference cookie when you toggle a UI option. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time without losing access.
4. Third-party providers
We make use of a limited set of third-party services strictly for technical reasons:
- Hosting and CDN: our hosting provider processes incoming traffic to deliver pages. They see the same data as the access logs above.
- Web fonts: fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser may share its IP with Google. You can block third-party fonts in your browser without breaking the page — system fonts will be used as a fallback.
- Search engines: major search engines index the site so that researchers can discover it. Anything those engines record about you is outside our control.
5. Minors
Dark Market List is intended for adult professional and academic audiences. The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, please do not use this site.
6. Visitor rights
Local law may give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold and to object to specific processing. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are in place — HTTPS for all traffic, hardened server configuration and ongoing monitoring. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so apply your own operational hygiene when reaching out, particularly across the public internet.
